Responsibilities
- stripping out old surfaces, plumbing and fittings
- carrying out rubble and preparing the flat for the next trade
- moving materials and assisting the tradesmen on site
- preparing surfaces for filling, tiling and painting
- plastering, painting or tiling — if those are things you can do
- cleaning the flat between stages and on completion
- following workplace safety rules
Requirements
- physical stamina — handling loads, and stairs
- renovation experience is an advantage, not a condition
- plastering, painting or tiling skills — they raise your rate
- care in your work: it is someone's home, and neighbours live next door
- punctuality — the crew starts the shift together
